Paediatric First Aid is a 12-hour basic training course especially for people who care for children in any setting.
It is suitable for all school staff, childminders, nursery and pre-school
workers, junior church workers, sport and leisure staff, crèche leaders,
parents and any one who is responsible for the welfare of infants and
This is an interactive course where course participants learn the skills
of Paediatric First Aid - emergency care of infants and children in a
low stress, friendly and positive environment.
First Aid for Child Carers satisfies OFSTED requirements for first aid for early years workers.
It meets the requirements for the CYPW Level 2 (QCF) units:
- Managing Paediatric Illness and Injury, and
- Paediatric First Aid.
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) The first 6 hours of this course cover the content needed for EFAW. If this is all that is required then delegates may complete only the first 6 hours of the Paediatric First Aid course and get an EFAW certificate. The certificate for those completing the whole course is for both Paediatric First Aid and Emergency First Aid at Work.
